I'll leave you there.

We woke up this morning to the smell of burning plastic. Later we learned that part of Universal Studios was on fire and what we were smelling was melting film; original I Love Lucys and Miami Vices up in smoke. So we headed upwind and climbed this mountain in Burbank:

To Wildwood Canyon.

Here's downtown Los Angeles:

And the smoke coming from Universal:

See this bench?

That's where we broke the camera. The lens cap got caught between the slats in the wood and it sort of banged around a bit and then the VERY FRAGILE EXPENSIVE THING I USE EVERY DAY started making weird noises and taking pictures like this:

and this:

And a bunch of others that would have been super cute if they weren't like that.

So I'm sorry, but I'm going to have to leave you here up on this mountain. Be careful getting down. Mind your cameras too.

I feel your pain. Last month I dropped our camera down all 4 cement steps on our front porch. We just bought an Olympus Stylus in part for the shockproof feature. I justified it because of when the kids get their hands on it but really I need the drop proof feature just as much. Also, I hereby swear to always wear the wrist strap. I hope you can fix yours.

So sorry to hear about the fire and your camera.
Those last two photos look like the scenes from Terminator 2 where the bombs go off (in Sarah Conners nightmare) and right before all the little children in the playground go up in smoke.
Did I just cross the gross line?
They are cool looking pictures though. Take some of some colorful flowers and see what happens.

Luckily the camera was still under warranty so we were able to send it in to get fixed and should get it back in two weeks. I wish it had a shockproof feature. I wish lots of things in my life had a shockproof feature.
