Retro Wednesday - 8 years ago. . .

And for our gift this year, we got my car an alternator. Because, as you know, the traditional anniversary presents are 1st - paper, 2nd - cotton, 3rd - leather, 4th - linen, 5th - wood, 6th - iron, 7th - copper, 8th - alternator. Happy anniversary, babe!

My mom got 2nd gear, i.e. a new transmission, one year for her anniversary... I think that was for their 12th... something to look forward to!!

  4. hey, at least he is practical!!! Dags (aka super dh) got me NOTHING for our anniversary a few years running.. I gave him the ultimate 'out' which was 'get me nothing this year and consider yourself divorced'.. I got a lovely eternity ring but nothing since.. *sigh*... I am happy if he remembers..

Love the dress, did you make it?

I happen to be a practical gal myself and getting a car running is a major gift!

  8. Thanks everyone. Yeah, I made the skirt with my mom. It has parts of her dress and parts of Erik's mom's dress in it. I haven't even seen it since that day - it's hanging in a closet at my parents' house. There just aren't many occasions for a floor length formal skirt. Hopefully McKenna will want it someday.
